Our experienced veterinary surgeons are available around the clock so there’s always someone to help in an emergency. Equine visits can be arranged through our Gosforth surgery between morning and afternoon surgery hours.

PRE-PURCHASE EXAMINATIONS (VETTINGS)
Before buying a horse, vettings are carried out by experienced equine veterinary surgeons to determine a horse’s suitability for their use. A Vetting is a detailed clinical examination to provide information on a horse’s faults that may affect that horse’s suitability to carry out a particular equestrian activity. This intended use must be carefully explained to the veterinary surgeon because this can affect the interpretation of the findings.
There are two “standard” vettings available which can be distinguished by the different numbers of stages. There is either a 2-stage vetting or a 5-stage vetting.
Payment is required on or before the appointment.
